Two Fort Meade Streets Scheduled to Close May 25

Bartow, Fla. (May 21, 2026) – A portion of Ninth Street Northeast and Church Avenue North in Fort Meade are scheduled to close at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 25 for sanitary sewer manhole installation work.

Ninth Street Northeast will be closed to through traffic between Polk Avenue North and Church Avenue North. Church Avenue North will be closed to through traffic between Ninth Street Northeast and Eighth Street Northeast. The roadways are expected to re-open at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 29.

Residents are asked to plan alternative routes as needed.

Traffic traveling east bound on Ninth Street Northeast will be detoured south on Polk Avenue North. Traffic traveling west bound on Ninth Street Northeast will be detoured south on Hendry Avenue North.

The closure is part of a G.E. Investments of Polk, LLC. project.
