Polk County Fire Chief Order No. 26-01 Temporary Suspension of Fire Department Burn Ban No. 25-02

Polk County Fire Chief suspended burn ban effective April 9, 2026. Burn ban will resume 11:59 p.m. EST on April, 16, 2026.

Polk County Ordinance 14-041 , amending Polk County Ordinance 08-015, authorizes the Fire Chief or the Fire Chief ‘s Designee to suspend a declared Fire Department Burn Ban from time to time without the need for further action by the Board of County Commissioners as long as any suspension does not exceed seven (7) days.
