Bartow, Fla. (May 5, 2026) — Polk County Utilities crews are working to repair a potable water line leak under Boy Scout Ranch Road in Lakeland. A portion of Boy Scout Ranch Road east of U.S. Highway 98 is currently consolidated to one lane to accommodate the repair.
Approximately 140 homes in Waterwood and Riverlake subdivisions are experiencing a service interruption.
The issue is expected to be resolved by this evening. Updates will be provided as progress on the repair continues.
Update (May 5, 2026) — Repairs to the potable water line leak under Boy Scout Ranch Road are complete and water service has been restored. A portion of Boy Scout Ranch Road east of U.S. Highway 98 is still consolidated to one lane to accommodate restoration of the roadway.
Update (May 6, 2026) — Both lanes of Boy Scout Ranch Road east of U.S. Highway 98 have reopened.
