Bartow, Fla. (May 6, 2025) – In May, CSX Transportation (CSXT) will close three rail crossings in Lake Wales for repairs.
Scheduled crossing closures and openings are listed below. Each rail crossing closure will begin at 7 a.m. and will re-open the following day at 7 a.m.
All lanes of travel across the tracks will be closed at that location until repairs are complete.
Old Ice House Road will close on Monday, May 19 and re-open on Tuesday, May 20 at the rail crossing south of Morrel Avenue.
North Lake Wales Alturas Road will close on Tuesday, May 20 and re-open on Wednesday, May 21 at the rail crossing between Crews Road and Lake Buffun West Lake Wales Road.
Alturas Babson Park Cut-off Road will close on Wednesday, May 21 and re-open on Thursday, May 22 at the rail crossing east of the Alturas Babson Park Cut-off Road and Crews Road Intersection.
Residents are asked to plan alternative routes as needed.
