Avenue A East and Fourth Street East Intersection in Wahneta Closed Daily for Conduit Connection Work Until June 15

Bartow, Fla. (June 8, 2026) – The Avenue A East and Fourth Street East intersection in Wahneta (Winter Haven) will be closed daily from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Monday, June 15 for underground conduit connection work.

The roadway will remain closed from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and the roadway will reopen between 6 p.m. and 7 a.m. daily until underground conduit connection work is completed. The roadway is expected to reopen at 6 p.m. on Monday, June 15.

The closure is part of a Polk Regional Water Cooperative project.

Traffic traveling on Fourth Street East, west of the closure, will be detoured on Rifle Range Road. Traffic traveling on Avenue A East, south of the closure, will be detoured west on Fifth Street East to Rifle Range Road. Traffic traveling on Fourth Street East, east of the closure, will be detoured north on the Lake Gwyn Park entrance road and then west on Second Street East.

Residents are asked to plan alternative routes as needed.
