Bartow, Fla. (Sept. 8, 2026) — Polk County Fire Rescue has started offering public education classes on a variety of safety topics in Spanish.
The classes offered in Spanish mirror the classes PCFR has taught in English for years. The Spanish-language classes will help educate previously unreached communities on vital safety topics.
PCFR Public Education Officer Jeannette Mangual will instruct the Spanish-language courses.
“Classes like these help inform communities across Polk County on important safety topics like Hands-Only CPR and Stop the Bleed,” said Mangual. “Holding these classes will empower our Spanish-speaking community to protect, respond and recover together.”
PCFR now offers a full catalog of safety classes in Spanish. Some of the topics include fire safety, water safety and hurricane preparedness.
Residents can request public education Spanish-language classes through the county’s website. The request form can be found here: https://www.polkfl.gov/public-safety/fire-rescue/education-and-training/.
