LaShanda Salters Appointed New Polk County Court Services Director

Bartow, Fla. (Sept. 4, 2025) – County Manager Bill Beasley announced the appointment of LaShanda Salters as Director of Polk County’s Court Services Division after Salters was confirmed by the Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday, Sept. 2.

As Court Services Director, Salters oversees a budget of approximately $5.3 million, 66 employees and the Court Services Division’s daily operations.

“I am truly honored and humbled to be chosen as the next Court Services Director.” said LaShanda Salters. “I am ready for the task and I’m excited to continue my journey with Polk County.”

Salters joined Polk County as a Probation Program Manager in 2019, bringing with her more than 25 years of experience in the criminal justice field. She began her career with the Leon County Clerk of Courts serving as a Deputy Clerk and Court Specialist before moving into probation services in 2004. Throughout her time with Leon County, Salters advanced through leadership roles in pretrial release, probation, drug and alcohol testing and court operations.

Salters earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Florida A&M University and completed her master’s degree in business administration, minoring in public administration from Thomas University. She completed her public management certification with the Center for Public Management at Florida State University and is Lean Six Sigma certified. Salters will earn $130,000 annually.
