Join the Polk County History Center’s Genealogy Speaker Series in February for “Fact or Fiction? Analyzing Online Family Trees,” a presentation by Dawn Carlile.
Have you ever found an ancestor in an online family tree and wondered whether you can trust the information? Online trees can be helpful research tools, but they’re not always accurate. Before adding those names to your own tree, learn how to evaluate sources and avoid introducing errors into your family history.
Join genealogist Dawn Carlile as she shares practical strategies for analyzing online family trees. With years of experience helping others uncover their roots, Carlile brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for teaching. She is the founder of Genealogy Roots and Branches, president and instructor for the Oregon Genealogical Society, and an active member of leading genealogical organizations nationwide.
This is a virtual program. The presenter will appear virtually. Guests are invited to participate via Zoom or in person at the Polk County History Center, located at 100 E. Main St. in Bartow.
