Polk County Attorney Randy Mink has served the Polk County Board of County Commissioners since 2006. Mink graduated from the University of South Florida in 2001 and received his Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law, cum laude, in 2006. Mink is Board Certified in City, County and Local Government Law and is a past president of the Lakeland Bar Association.

The county attorney is appointed by the County Commission and is responsible for providing timely legal advice to the Board, county government personnel and other constitutional officers on an as-needed basis.

Deputy County Attorney Tom Norsworthy joined the County Attorney’s Office in 2010 and has served as a Deputy County Attorney since 2020. He is a graduate of the University of Florida College of Law and a member of The Florida Bar.

Deputy County Attorney Sandra Howard joined the County Attorney’s Office in 2013, after spending six years in private practice. Howard has served as a Deputy County Attorney since 2020. Howard graduated from Truman State University, magna cum laude, in 2003 and received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida College of Law, cum laude, in 2007. Howard is Board Certified in City, County and Local Government Law and serves as a member of the Board of Governors for the Lakeland Bar.
