Bartow, Fla. (Feb. 2, 2026) — Polk County Utilities staff are working to repair a damaged potable water main on Banana Road in Lakeland. Approximately 225 residents in the Lake James and Harrison Place subdivisions are experiencing a water outage. Updates will be provided as work on the repair continues.
Commuters should avoid the area if possible or expect delays.

Update: (Feb. 3, 2026) — Repairs to the damaged water main on Banana Road have been completed and water service has been restored to residences. Residents in the Lake James and Harrison Place subdivisions are currently under a precautionary boil water notice until ongoing water sampling analysis has been completed.
